  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 tablespoons shortening, melted
  • FILLING
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup jelly
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Soak bran flakes in milk for 10 minutes.

  • Step 2: Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.

  • Step 3: Combine egg and bran/milk mixture. Add melted shortening. Add to dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.

  • Step 4: Cook on hot griddle. Turn only once.

  • Step 5: Spread with butter and jelly and roll up.

  • Step 6: Sprinkle with brown sugar.
