Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 teaspoons yeast (2 packages)
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 3 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup lard (or 1/2 cup butter)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk (warm)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix yeast with 1/4 cup warm water and 3 teaspoons sugar.

  • Step 2: Add to 2 cups flour to make a sponge. Let rise 15 minutes

  • Step 3: Add the lard or butter, 1/4 cup sugar, and salt to the warm milk.( i warmed butter and milk and salt in microwave).

  • Step 4: Add this to the rest flour mixture.

  • Step 5: Knead dough 5 minutes;

  • Step 6: Let stand 15 minutes in a warm place. covered with damp cloth.

  • Step 7: Shape into buns;

  • Step 8: Let stand 5 more minutes in a warm place.

  • Step 9: (i made 20 lime sized rolls and put in oiled 9x13 sized pan covered with damp cloth.)

  • Step 10: Bake at 425° for 20 minutes or until browned and done. (my ovens wonky).
