Step 1: In a saucepan, melt butter over med heat, add onions and simmer til soft and melted, 5-7 minutes.
Step 2: Add ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, brown sugar, lemon juice and pepper.
Step 3: Bring to a boil, lower heat to low, simmer til flavors have smoothed and mellowed, at least 10 and up to 30 minutes.
Step 4: Taste and adjust for seasoning with salt & pepper.
Step 5: Store airtight in refrigerator, will last for months.
