The ingredients are:
  • 24 sliced (8 ounces) French baguette (cut into about 1/4-inch slices, 24 slices is about half the baguette)
  • Olive oil or melted butter
  • 2 cans (12 ounces each) crabmeat (well drained and flaked, squeeze out all moisture, 6 ounce each can)
  • 1 jar (2 ounces) diced pimientos (well drained)
  • 2 ounces Swiss cheese (finely shredded, about 1/2 cup)
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1/3 cup cream cheese spread (use chive and onion flavor from 8-ounce container)
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper sauce
  • Chopped fresh chives

How to Make

  • Step 1: Heat oven to 400°.

  • Step 2: Place bread slices on large ungreased cookie sheet. Brush tops lightly with oil or melted butter. Bake 3 to 5 minutes or until crisp and very light brown.

  • Step 3: Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients except chives in medium bowl.

  • Step 4: Spread 1 semi-heaping tablespoonful of the crabmeat mixture on each bread slice.

  • Step 5: Bake about 5 minutes or until filling is hot and cheese is melted.

  • Step 6: Sprinkle with chives.
