Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • MEATBALLS
  • 1 pound lean ground beef (very lean)
  • 1 large egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, grated (I used the stuff in the green can)
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons minced garlic (I used the same amount of garlic powder)
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce(optional)
  • 2 teaspoons oil (vegetable oil)
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • SAUCE
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced(I used garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper,or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 2: Mix all the meatball ingredients in a large bowl and shape into 1-inch balls. Fry until brown in the oil and butter. Drain off the grease and place meatballs on paper towels.

  • Step 3: Place meatballs in a 2-qt. baking dish.

  • Step 4: In a small bowl, combine sauce ingredients then pour over meatballs and bake for 20 minutes.

  • Step 5: For a meatloaf, mix the meat and form into a loaf in a baking dish. Bake for 45 minutes.

  • Step 6: Remove from the oven and top with the sauce. Return to the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the sauce looks bubbly.
