Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups cake flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup cola (like Coke, or water)
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup shortening (room temp)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 ounces unsweetened chocolate (4 small squares, melted and cooled)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 F.

  • Step 2: Grease a 13x9 inch pan.

  • Step 3: In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients. Beat for 30 seconds on low speed, stop to scrape sides of the bow. Continue beating at medium speed for 3 minutes.

  • Step 4: Pour batter in prepared pan or pans.

  • Step 5: Bake 30-35 minutes, or until baked.

  • Step 6: Cool, frost.
