Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (sifted)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup light cream (or 3/4 cup milk)
  • 2 apples (peeled, cored and sliced 16 slices)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350-degrees F.

  • Step 2: In a mixing bowl cream butter and sugar together until thick and lemon colored.

  • Step 3: Add eggs, beating until light.

  • Step 4: In a seperate bowl sift flour with baking powder and salt.

  • Step 5: Add dry ingredients alternately to the batter with the cream (or milk), beating until batter is smooth.

  • Step 6: Pour batter into a greased 9 x 12-inch pan.

  • Step 7: Insert apple slices so that the outer edges are up.

  • Step 8: In a small cup combine remaining 2 tablespoons sugar with cinnamon.

  • Step 9: Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over top of apples.

  • Step 10: Bake for 50-60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
