Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 cups green cabbage, chopped (roughly chopped, if you like, use a combo of red and green cabbage)
  • 1 1/2 cups carrot, grated
  • 1 cup sweet onion, thinly sliced(optional)
  • 1 pound smoked sausage (cut into 1/4 inch pieces)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (canola oil)
  • 1 cup water

How to Make

  • Step 1: In large skillet over medium heat add oil.

  • Step 2: Heat oil until hot but not smoking.

  • Step 3: Add smoked sausage and if using onion add here; cook until lightly browned, about 5 minutes.

  • Step 4: Add carrots,cabbage,and water.

  • Step 5: Cover with lid; simmer for 25 or until cabbage is tender and water is absorbed(You might need a little more water to get cabbage fully cooked).

  • Step 6: Salt and pepper to taste,then serve.
