Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/3 cup butter, cold
  • 1 cup sourdough starter (refreshed)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Stir together the flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder.

  • Step 2: Cut in the the butter into the flour until incorporated.

  • Step 3: Stir in the sourdough starter.

  • Step 4: Turn the dough out on a lightly floured surface.

  • Step 5: Need until flour is in mixed in.

  • Step 6: Place in a greased bowl and cover and place in the refrigerator overnight.

  • Step 7: Remove dough from the refrigerator 45 minutes prior to baking.

  • Step 8: Allow the dough to rest at room temperature for 20-30 minutes.

  • Step 9: Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

  • Step 10: Roll or pat the dough out to 3/4 inch thickness and cut with a biscuit cutter or knife (for square biscuits).

  • Step 11: Place on baking sheet and allow to rest for 15 minutes.

  • Step 12: Bake for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned.
