Step 1: Preheat oven to 375° F.
Step 2: Spray a 9-inch springform pan and line the bottom with parchment paper; spray paper.
Step 3: Melt chocolate and butter in a double boiler over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
Step 4: Remove from heat and whisk in sugar and cinnamon.
Step 5: Whisk some of the warm chocolate/sugar mixture into the eggs to temper them and then add eggs to chocolate and whisk well.
Step 6: Whisk in cocoa powder until just combined.
Step 7: Pour batter into prepared pan and fan pear slices on top.
Step 8: Bake until top has formed a thin crust, 25 to 30 minutes.
Step 9: Cool in pan on a rack 5 minutes then remove sides of pan and transfer cake to a serving plate.
