  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup butter (cold and cut into chunks)
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

How to Make

  • Step 1: To make chocolate pastry: In a food processor or a bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, and salt; whirl or mix to blend.

  • Step 2: Add in butter; using fingers blend until fine crumbs form.

  • Step 3: Add egg yolk and vanilla; mix until blended.

  • Step 4: Lightly spray 9-inch pie pan with non-stick spray. Pour mixture into pan and press evenly over bottom, up sides and across rim. Pinch in decorative edge, or press with tines of fork.

  • Step 5: Bake 350 degrees 15-17 minutes or until crust is darker around edges.

  • Step 6: Cool and fill with no-bake fillings.
