Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 celery stalks (with leaves, chopped)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1/2 pound potatoes, diced
  • 1 cup turnips, diced
  • 1 can (540 ml) tomatoes (Aylmer spicy red pepper and petite cut tomatoes)
  • 4 cups vegetable broth (I use Knorr)
  • 1 bay leaf

How to Make

  • Step 1: Remove the casings from the sausage and place in a Dutch oven or heavy bottomed pot along with the onions; cook until meat is no longer pink.

  • Step 2: Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

  • Step 3: Reduce heat, cover and simmer for a couple of hours.

  • Step 4: Remove bay leaf and ladle into bowls.

  • Step 5: Enjoy!
