The ingredients are:
  • 2 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

  • Step 2: In a large mixing bowl mix flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.

  • Step 3: In a medium mixing bowl beat butter and brown sugar together, adding in the eggs, one at a time, then add in the vanilla.

  • Step 4: Once everything is added, beat 3-5 minutes, until well mixed.

  • Step 5: Add the wet ingredients into the flour mixture, and stir until well blended.

  • Step 6: Spread evenly into the pan. It is a thicker batter so use a large spoon, spatula, or your hands (sprayed with oil) to spread it into the pan.

  • Step 7: Topping: Mix the sugar and cinnamon together, and sprinkle over the top of the batter.

  • Step 8: Bake 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  • Step 9: Cool, then cut into squares.
