Step 1: In a bowl, mix the flour with salt, baking powder, garlic powder or onion powder.
Step 2: In a small saucepan, heat the butter and milk just until it comes to a simmer. Remove from heat, add to the dry ingredients. Stir with a fork until the mixture just comes together.
Step 3: Divide the dough into about 15 small dumplings, then roll each piece of dough into a small ball.
Step 4: Gently place the dumpling balls over the top of your stew or soup. Cover and simmer for 8-10 minutes.
Step 5: Serve.
