Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (plus 1/2 cup more for kneading)
  • 1 extra-large egg, room temperature
  • 1 cup pineapple juice, heated to no more than 100 degrees F.
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a medium size bowl, beat the egg. Slowly whisk the warm pineapple juice into the egg so it doesn't scramble. Then add the honey, sugar, salt, ginger, vanilla, and butter.

  • Step 2: Place 1 1/2 cups of flour in a large bowl. Stir in the egg mixture until well-combined. Sprinkle in the yeast, and mix.

  • Step 3: Add the remaining 1 1/2 cups of flour and mix in. Blending with a spoon will be hard, so you may have to use your hands. Make sure it is thoroughly combined. Cover the bowl with a cloth and set in a warm place to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size. (I turn my oven on to 200 degrees F and set the bowl on top of the stove to rise).

  • Step 4: Remove from the bowl and knead in 1/2 cup flour. Knead about 20 times.

  • Step 5: Form dough into a loaf and place in a greased and floured loaf pan. Cover and place in a warm place to rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  • Step 6: Preheat oven 400 degrees F.

  • Step 7: Place in preheated 400 degree F. oven and bake for 25 minutes. Remove from pan and place on a cooling rack. Let cool about 1/2 hour before slicing.
