The ingredients are:
  • 1 can (14 ounce) whole tomatoes (peeled, reserve juice)
  • 1 large jalapeno pepper (fresh, stem removed, and cut into 3 pieces, the number of jalapenos may be adjusted for heat level. 2 yield hot, 3 very hot)
  • 1 small garlic clove
  • 2 tablespoons yellow onions, chopped
  • Cilantro, fresh, to taste (about 2 tablespoons)
  • Salt to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Wash produce before using.

  • Step 2: Place a small saute pan on medium heat, and cook jalapeno and garlic until slightly charred.

  • Step 3: Add all vegetables to a food processor, and pulse to a coarse chop, adding the reserved juice from the tomatoes.

  • Step 4: Salt to taste.

  • Step 5: Chill.
