Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 large Russet potatoes (or Yukon Gold potatoes)
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons oil (extra-virgin olive oil)
  • 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Peel and slice the potatoes about 1/8" or thinner in diameter. Slice the onions very thin as well.

  • Step 2: In a wide non-stick frying pan, over medium high heat, melt the butter then add the olive oil.

  • Step 3: Add the sliced potatoes and onions-cover and let fry for 10 minutes.

  • Step 4: Using a spatula, turn the potatoes over so they do not break apart. Sprinkle with the seasonings and continue to fry, with the cover removed for another 5 minutes or until the potatoes are lightly browned underneath. If needed, turn the potatoes over occasionally.

  • Step 5: Add additional seasonings at the end.
