Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 mahi mahi fish fillets
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar (I used lemongrass mint infused white balsamic)
  • 1 tablespoon gingerroot, finely grated
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 teaspoons oil (olive oil)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil (vegetable oil)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a shallow glass dish, stir together the honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, balsamic vinegar, ginger, garlic and olive oil.

  • Step 2: Season fish fillets with salt and pepper, and place them into the dish.

  • Step 3: If the fillets have skin on them, place them skin side down.

  • Step 4: Cover, and refrigerate for 20 minutes to marinate.

  • Step 5: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  • Step 6: Remove fish from the dish, and reserve marinade.

  • Step 7: Fry fish for 4 to 6 minutes on each side, turning only once, until fish flakes easily with a fork.

  • Step 8: Remove fillets to a serving platter and cover to keep warm (or use warming tray if available

  • Step 9: Pour reserved marinade into the skillet, and heat over medium heat until the mixture reduces to a glaze consistently.

  • Step 10: Return fish to the pan and spoon glaze over fish.
