Step 1: In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients.
Step 2: In another bowl, combine mashed bananas, sugar, egg and butter; mix well. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened (do this by hand, do not use an electric mixer). Gently stir in nuts.
Step 3: Fill greased or paper lined muffin cups three fourths full.
Step 4: For the topping; Combine the first three topping ingredients; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over muffins. Bake at 375 degrees for 18-20 minutes or until muffins test done.
Step 5: Cool in pan 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack.
