The ingredients are:
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (pure vanilla!)
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup confectioners sugar (depending on how sweet you want them!)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped (chop in a food processor, measure 1 cup chopped)
  • Confectioners’ sugar (for rolling, use enough for a double coating/rolling)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 2: In a medium bowl cream butter with vanilla until smooth.

  • Step 3: Combine 1/3-1/2 cup confectioners sugar and flour; stir into the butter mixture until just blended.

  • Step 4: Mix in the chopped walnuts.

  • Step 5: Roll dough into 1 inch balls. Place them 2 inches apart on a lightly-greased cookie sheet.

  • Step 6: Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven.

  • Step 7: When still slightly warm roll all the balls in confectioners’ sugar.

  • Step 8: When all balls are coated in confections sugar, roll them second time.
