Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • COOKIE DOUGH
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 pound butter, room temperature
  • Powdered sugar
  • FILLING
  • 2 cups walnuts, finely chopped (not in a food processor)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 egg whites, beaten till frothy

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix first 4 ingredients for cookie dough with a spoon. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate 24 hours.

  • Step 2: Make filling in bowl by mixing with a spoon.

  • Step 3: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 4: Roll out on board dusted with powdered sugar to 1/4 inch thick. Cut out in 3 inch circles. Put 1 teaspoon filling in center of each circle. Fold over and seal edges, and push in center-side of "fat" side with thumb to make it look like a crescent shape.

  • Step 5: Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake in preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove and let cool completely. Then coat well in powdered sugar.
