Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 green onions, chopped (green and white parts)
  • 1/3 cup red onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup oil (olive oil)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 habanero pepper (or scotch bonnet pepper, stemmed, seeded, and chopped)
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons allspice
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place all the ingredients in the bowl of a food processor, BUT using only HALF the amount of the habanero or scotch bonnet pepper.

  • Step 2: Process until somewhat smooth, then taste for heat level. Adjust to your taste, and continue processing until a smooth paste forms.

  • Step 3: Use right away or store in a glass container.
