Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 pounds squash (2 large butternut, peeled, seeded then cubed, the cubes should be about 1-inch)
  • 2/3 cup maple syrup (pure)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper (can use more)
  • 1/3 cup butter (cold butter cut into VERY small pieces you can reduce the butter to 1/4 cup)
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped (toasted)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Butter 13 x 9-inch glass baking dish.

  • Step 3: In the baking dish toss the squash cubes with maple syrup, salt and pepper.

  • Step 4: Place the butter cubes over the top.

  • Step 5: Bake uncovered until squash is tender, stirring occasionally, about 35 minutes.

  • Step 6: After baking sprinkle the nuts over top then serve.
