Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus spears
  • 1/4 cup oil (vegetable oil)
  • 2 cloves garlic, pressed
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

How to Make

  • Step 1: Clean the asparagus and snap the tough ends off.

  • Step 2: Mix together the oil, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper; set aside.

  • Step 3: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the asparagus spears.

  • Step 4: Cook for 3 minutes, remove from heat, drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.

  • Step 5: Gently pat the asparagus spears dry.

  • Step 6: Place the asparagus on a baking sheet and drizzle with the oil mixture.

  • Step 7: Gently toss this together making sure the spears are well coated.

  • Step 8: Grill the asparagus over medium-high heat, rolling them back and forth with the back of a spatula, until you have nice grill marks on them, about 5 minutes, depending on how thick the spears are
