Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/4 cup orange juice (and zest)
  • 2 tablespoons sake (or mirin, but don't use the sugar)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar (if using sake)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons fresh lime juice
  • Cayenne pepper, 1 pinch
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • OPTIONAL
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Zest your orange - now juice it. You need ¼ cup; make a screwdriver with the rest.

  • Step 2: Put orange juice, zest, sake, sugar, soy sauce, lime juice, and cayenne into a saucepan. Bring to a boil, turn down heat to a simmer, and reduce sauce by half for about 3 minutes.

  • OPTIONAL STEP

  • Step 3: Mix together the water and corn starch, add to the simmering sauce, and stir until thickened. I DON'T THICKEN IT, I LIKE IT RUNNIER! If skipping, go to next step.

  • Step 4: Add the sesame oil and stir to combine.

  • Step 5: It's done! There, that was easy, wasn't it? Now taste it - Oh wow! Start imagining what you'll be able to do with this stuff.
