Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 pie pastry (frozen pie shell pair - in box)
  • 5 apples (you can use a few varieties of apples for best flavor)
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon

How to Make

  • Step 1: Remove frozen pie crust from package and set aside to thaw while you make the pie mix

  • Step 2: Peel and cut 5 or 6 apples - use two or three varieties of apples for best flavor

  • Step 3: Put apples in large bowl, and then add the following into the bowl

  • Step 4: Add sugar

  • Step 5: Squeeze fresh lemon - about 1 tablespoon. You can also use bottled lemon

  • Step 6: Add your flour

  • Step 7: Add cinnamon

  • Step 8: With a large spoon, stir the ingredients

  • Step 9: Let mix sit for 15 minutes, making sure that every five minutes or so you give a good stir

  • Step 10: Preheat oven to 375 degrees

  • Step 11: After 15 minutes, pour mix into the bottom pie shell making sure you get all the juices

  • Step 12: Place second pie crust on top and pinch the two shells together

  • Step 13: Sprinkle around one teaspoon of sugar on top of pie

  • Step 14: Sprinkle one tablespoon cinnamon on top of pie

  • Step 15: Put pie in over for 1 hour

  • Step 16: Take pie out of oven and place on pie rack (or on stovetop) for a few hours to cool down

  • Step 17: Serve warm - best on day that is baked!
