Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 10 ounces ground lamb, lean
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili pepper flakes
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon mint, fresh (finely chopped or 1 teaspoon dried mint)
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro, fresh (or 1 teaspoons dried cilantro)
  • 1 tablespoons oregano, fresh (chopped or 1 teaspoon dried oregano)
  • 1 teaspoon dry sherry
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons yogurt, Greek
  • 1/2 teaspoon Greek spice mix
  • Pita bread (2 whole wheat pita breads or 2 burger buns)
  • 2 slices onion, sweet

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix the lamb with chili pepper, cumin, garlic, mint, allspice, cilantro, oregano, sherry, salt and pepper

  • Step 2: Mix well but do not over handle

  • Step 3: Form 2 patties

  • Step 4: Mix together the yogurt, feta cheese and greek spice

  • Step 5: Grill or pan fry the patties, apprx 4-5 minutes each side

  • Step 6: Place patty in the pita, top with the yogurt mixture and onion slice

  • Step 7: Enjoy
