Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 cups water
  • 3/4 cup steel-cut oats (Scotch oats)
  • 1/2 cup quinoa, rinsed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup pumpkin puree, canned
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • Brown sugar or maple syrup
  • Raisins or cranberries
  • Walnuts, chopped (toasted)
  • Milk

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large saucepan combine the water, oats, quinoa and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

  • Step 2: Stir in the pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice then add in brown sugar or maple syrup. Remove from the heat; cover and let stand for 5 minutes or until water is absorbed and grains are tender. Stir in raisins or the cranberries and walnuts.

  • Step 3: Serve with milk.
