Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground beef, lean
  • 1 onion, chopped (large onion)
  • 2 carrots, medium (fine diced or coarsely grated)
  • 1 celery rib (fine diced)
  • 6 garlic cloves, minced (large cloves or 1 tablespoon garlic powder)
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, dried
  • 1/4 to 1/3 cup wine, red, dry
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 3 cups tomato sauce (Hunt's brand)
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cooked spaghetti
  • Parmesan cheese

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large skillet cook the beef until light browned. Add in onion and next 4 ingredients. Cook a couple minutes or until softened.

  • Step 2: Add wine, beef stock and tomato sauce and parsley. Bring to a simmer stirring.

  • Step 3: Turn heat to low and let simmer (part covered) for about 2 hours, stirring once in a while and seasoning with salt and pepper halfway through cooking time and again at the end.

  • Step 4: Serve the Bolognese sauce on top of cooked spaghetti, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
