Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • Seasoned turkey patty (4 ounces, or 4 ounces turkey meatballs,cut into very small pieces
  • 1/4 cup onion (finely chopped white onion)
  • 4 tablespoons butter (or margarine, divided)
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup milk (or more if needed)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground sage
  • 1/2 shredded cheddar cheese, divided (the cheese is optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a medium sized skillet, melt 2 Tablespoons margarine over low heat and add onions.

  • Step 2: Cook onions until soft.

  • Step 3: Turn heat up to medium and add remaining margarine and flour and stir until well blended.

  • Step 4: Pour milk in a little at a time and stir until thickened, at this point you might need more milk.

  • Step 5: Stir in all seasonings until well combined.

  • Step 6: Then add cut up Turkey Burger or if using, Turkey Meatballs.

  • Step 7: Return heat to low, stirring occasionally until meat is heated through.

  • Step 8: Pour over toast and sprinkle each serving with 1/4 cup cheese if using.
