Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 bread slices (French bread, one inch thick)
  • 4 extra large eggs
  • 2 cups of milk (I use 2%)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • TOPPING
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 3 cups mixed berries (I use blueberries, raspberries and chopped strawberries)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Arrange bread slices in a single layer in a buttered 9x13 inch baking dish, trimming to fit.

  • Step 2: In a large bowl whisk togethereggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and 1/2 cup of sugar.

  • Step 3: Pour evenly over bread.

  • Step 4: Cover and refrigerate several hours or overnight.

  • Step 5: Just before baking, combine remaining sugar, pecans and melted butter.

  • Step 6: Spread berries over bread layer and top with pecan mixture.

  • Step 7: Bake in a pre-heated 400f oven for 35-40 OR unitl the bread is puffed and the fruit is bubbling.

  • Step 8: Serve warm with some maple syrup!
