  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 6 cups oats (any kind)
  • 1 cup sweetened flaked coconut
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup corn syrup (or honey)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 cup white sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 250F.

  • Step 2: Mix flour, oats, coconut and wheat germ in a large mixing bowl.

  • Step 3: Combine the remaining ingredients in a smaller mixing bowl.

  • Step 4: Pour the corn syrup mixture into the dry mix, then mix well.

  • Step 5: Spread out into an even layer, about 1/2-inch thick, on a cookie sheet.

  • Step 6: Bake for 1 hour.

  • Step 7: Cool, cut into bars.
