Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 8 slices sandwich bread, cubed
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, cubed
  • 12 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

How to Make

  • Step 1: Layer half of the bread cubes in a greased 9 X 13 casserole dish.

  • Step 2: Scatter the cream cheese cubes over the bread, then add the other half of the bread cubes on top.

  • Step 3: Combine eggs, milk, and syrup. Pour over the casserole.

  • Step 4: Cover and refrigerate overnight.

  • Step 5: In the morning,bring to room temperature, and sprinkle the nuts over the top of the casserole, lightly pressing them in with a spatula.

  • Step 6: Preheat oven to 350 degrees, and bake 30 to 45 minutes. Cut into squares and serve with maple syrup if desired.
