Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 tablespoons butter (or margarine)
  • 3 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup chopped ham
  • 1 bag (12 ounce) frozen lima beans
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter (or margarine, this Tablespoon is optional)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a 2 quart sauce pan over medium heat, melt margarine.

  • Step 2: Add onion and ham, cook until onion is softened.

  • Step 3: Add lima beans and cover with enough water to barely cover beans(1 inch of water).

  • Step 4: Turn heat to low, cook until beans are tender, stirring occasionally(if using,add final Tablespoon of margarine @ this time).
