Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup butter, room temperature
  • 2 2/3 cups confectioners sugar, sifted (must be sifted)
  • 1/3 cup whole milk (or half and half cream or 18% table cream which is what I use)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt (or a pinch)
  • CHOOSE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING
  • For light -- 1/3 cup unsweetened baking cocoa, sifted
  • For medium -- 1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa, sifted
  • For dark -- 3/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa, sifted

How to Make

  • Step 1: Cream the butter in a medium bowl for for about 3 minutes.

  • Step 2: Add in desired amount of sifted cocoa powder, cream, vanilla, salt and confectioners sugar; beat using an electric mixer until smooth (because of the different amounts of cocoa more cream or confectioners sugar may have to be added in order to achieve desired texture)
