Step 1: In a heavy saucepan, combine first 5 ingredients, and mix together.
Step 2: Cook on medium heat to 239 degrees using a candy thermometer.
Step 3: Take off stove, and add vanilla.
Step 4: Beat with wooden spoon until creamy and shiny.
Step 5: Add nuts, and stir well.
Step 6: Spread into a buttered 11x7 inch pan.
Step 7: Once cool, cut into squares.
Step 8: Store in a cookie tin or plastic container, and refrigerate, if you want to.
Step 9: Note: Cooking time is approximate. Use a candy thermometer.
