How to Make

  • Step 1: First, I find it fun to write the name of the drink either on the cup or the popsicle stick - I prefer the cup. This is especially important if you are making more than one flavor. Just make sure to use a waterproof black marker. You will also need 8 5 oz paper cups, and popsicle sticks.

  • Step 2: Cups ... This is what I have found works best - a 9x9 pan. Add the cups to the pan, and fill them with your cocktail. Cover with plastic wrap; and, I actually tape the sides to the pan using masking tape, to make sure you get a tight cover. Then using a knife, make a small slit in the plastic cup in the center of each cup. This is where you will place the popsicle stick. Add the sticks and transfer to the pan to the freezer, making sure it sets flat. After 1 hour, check the sticks, and adjust if any have fallen over or tilted. They should stand right up; but, don't worry if they tilt a bit - it isn't a big deal.

  • Step 3: Continue to freeze at least another 5 hours, until completely set. Personally, I like to make these the day before and let them freeze over night.

  • Step 4: Serve and ENJOY! ... As I said, aAdd these 'poptails' to a bowl of ice, and let everyone help themselves. You can even make smaller ones if you want - mini poptails, it is all up to you. They are just fun to entertain with; especially for a summer party or BBQ. And remember, have fun with your favorite combinations. Fresh fruit can also be added to these.
