Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 to 4 pounds whole roasting chicken
  • 1/3 cup butter, salted (sliced)
  • 1 lemon, cut in half
  • McCormicks Rotisserie Chicken seasoning

How to Make

  • Step 1: Soak the clay pot in tepid water for 30 minutes.

  • Step 2: Wash the bird and put into the bottom of the clay roaster.

  • Step 3: Tunnel under the skin and place butter slices under the skin, reaching as many areas as possible.

  • Step 4: Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the chicken and put the lemon halves that are left, into the cavity.

  • Step 5: Sprinkle seasoning liberally. You can use a lot here.

  • Step 6: Cover the roaster with the top and place into a cold oven.

  • Step 7: Roast at 400 degrees F for 1 hour or more, until the leg moves freely.

  • Step 8: When done, remove the roaster from the oven, uncover and let the chicken rest x 20 minutes before carving.
