Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust (frozen, thawed)
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, diced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cup baby spinach, washed
  • 1 cup ham, cubed (cooked)
  • 4 ounces bacon slices (4 slices, cooked crisp, diced)
  • 4 ounces smoked Gouda cheese (diced)
  • 1/4 cups low-fat cottage cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh ground pepper to taste
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups cream

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

  • Step 2: Place pie shell on cookie sheet and partially bake for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and reduce temperature to 350 degrees F.

  • Step 3: While the pie shell bakes, saute the onions over medium heat in the olive oil until dark brown, 10- 15 minutes. Add spinach and green onions and cook until the spinach is wilted. Set aside to cool slightly

  • Step 4: Sprinkle the ham and gouda evenly over the warm pie shell. Place pie on a cookie sheet.

  • Step 5: Scrape onion spinach mixture over top.

  • Step 6: In a medium bowl, whisk the cottage cheese until smooth,

  • Step 7: Add salt and pepper, eggs, flour and milk. Whisk well.

  • Step 8: Pour into pie shell.

  • Step 9: Bake 40-50 minutes, until set and golden brown

  • Step 10: Cool 30 minutes before serving.
