Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cup ground pecans (or almonds)
  • 2 cup dates (not soaked)
  • 1/2 cup (heaping) cocao powder
  • 2 to 4 heaping teaspoon agave nectar (or honey -- adjust for sweetenss)
  • FROSTING
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil (or coconut butter)
  • 2 tablespoons mashed avocado (optional)
  • 2 tablespoon agave (OR honey, if it tastes to avocadoy add more agave or honey)
  • 1 tablespoon cocao powder

How to Make

  • Step 1: Place the first 4 ingredients in a processor; process until well combined; press into a pan (I used an 8x8 inch pan).

  • Step 2: Now process icing ingredients. If you use the coconut oil right out of the jar (firm) it should get very creamy in your food processor. If you do it by hand, warm up the oil jar in a bowl of water and use it in liquid form.

  • Step 3: Spread frosting onto the bars and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (the long the better).

  • Step 4: Slice and enjoy!
