Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground round beef (use any ground meat you prefer: beef, lamb, pork, bison, chicken, turkey, etc.)
  • 1 teaspoon Cavendars Greek seasoning or home made Greek seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon mild paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon dried Greek oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup minced red onion
  • 2 ounces crumbled feta cheese
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a mixing bowl, use wet hands to mix the beef, minced onions, greek seasoning, garlic, paprika, oregano and season it as you like with salt and pepper. Don't mix the cheese into the beef.

  • Step 2: Divide the meat into 6 pieces and pat them out to as large and thin as you can.

  • Step 3: Divide the cheese and place in mounded piles in the center of three of the patties; leave an area around the edges free of cheese so the burgers don't break open and leak there.

  • Step 4: Top each patty with another and before you squeeze it, crimp the edges almost flat and then using your hands, shore up the sides of the patty with your thumb. Then you can flatten it without having the feta try to fall out.

  • Step 5: Cook the burgers in a skillet, on the grill or under the broiler until done to your liking- I like mine done to 160F on an instant read thermomenter. Keep the heat low so you don't burn them- burgers take time to cook to the center.

  • Step 6: Serve on kaiser rolls or sandwich buns with your choice of burger toppings- I serve mine with lettuce, tomatoes and garlic aioli. You can find a recipe for quick garlic aioli in my recipebook.
