Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 cups oats (old fashioned or rolled oats)
  • 1 cup oat bran
  • 1/4 cup ground flax seed
  • 1 cup almonds (blanched almonds, slivered or chopped)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup dried blueberries (or craisins)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 300°.

  • Step 2: Combine the oats, bran, flax and almonds in a large bowl.

  • Step 3: In a small pot over medium-low heat, combine the honey, oil, sugar, water, vanilla, cinnamon and salt, stirring until bubbly.

  • Step 4: Pour over the oat mixture, blending well.

  • Step 5: Spread in a single layer on 2 rimmed baking sheets.

  • Step 6: Bake for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.

  • Step 7: For the final 10 minutes, stir in the dried blueberries/craisins.

  • Step 8: Let cool before storing in airtight containers.
