The ingredients are:
  • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3 to 4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated Milk
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) chicken broth
  • 1/2 to 1 pound Italian sausage, cooked and drained (mild or hot)
  • 1 (15.5 ounce) cancannellini (white kidney beans), undrained
  • Salt & pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and garlic; cook, stirring occasionally, 1 to 2 minutes or until onion is tender, careful not to brown the garlic.

  • Step 2: Stir in flour. Gradually stir in evaporated milk and broth. Bring to a medium boil stirring constantly. Add sausage and beans; continue simmering covered on low for 20-30 minutes Season to taste with salt and ground black pepper.
