Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound ground round
  • 1 1.25 ounce package taco seasoning, or your own homemade seasoning
  • 4 large tomatoes, finely diced
  • 5 green onion, finely diced
  • Jalapeno, very finely diced, optional
  • 1 1/2 cups prepared queso, or your homemade queso
  • 13 ounce bag tortilla chips
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Brown ground round in a large skillet. Add taco seasoning, following package directions. If using homemade seasoning, use about 2 tablespoons and 1/2 cup of water. Simmer for 5-10 minutes. While ground round mixture is simmering, heat the queso in the microwave until hot, smooth and creamy.

  • Step 2: To prepare - layer the tortilla chips on a large sheet pan or platter. I use a jelly roll pan. You probably will not use the whole bag of chips.

  • Step 3: Layer the season ground round on top of the tortillas, pour the queso over all. Top with the green onion and tomato - add the jalapeno, if desired and serve.
