Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tuna (water packed)
  • 1/8 cup chicken broth or skim milk (see note)
  • 2 tablespoon canola oil
  • 1-2 tablespoon dried catnip, crushed (see note)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

How to Make

  • Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • Step 2: Line a large cookie sheet with foil and set aside.

  • Step 3: Drain the tuna, RESERVING 1/4 cup liquid (if necessary add chicken broth or milk to make 1/4 up).

  • Step 4: In a small bowl, combine tuna, 1/4 cup liquid, oil, and catnip.

  • Step 5: In a medium bowl, combine all-purpose flour and whole wheat flour , stir in the tuna mixture and cheese until just combined.

  • Step 6: If necessary stir in UP TO 2 Tablespoons water to moisten dough.

  • Step 7: Using your hands form dough in to a ball.

  • Step 8: On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 1/8-inch thick rectangle, trim and discard the uneven edges from the dough.

  • Step 9: Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, cut the rectangle into 1 1/2 inch square (bite-sized for cats).

  • Step 10: Place pieces on a prepared cookie sheet in a single layer.

  • Step 11: Bake in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until cookies are still somewshat soft.

  • Step 12: Cool completely on the cookie sheet. Make about 400 Kitty cookies.

  • Step 13: Place cookies in a resealable plastic bag. Store in fridge for up to 1 week or freeze for up to 6 months.
