Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 2 teaspoons grated orange zest
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
  • 1 cup dried aprictos, finely chopped
  • 1 cup pitted dates, finely chopped
  • 2 cups dry roasted almonds, finely chopped
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

How to Make

  • Step 1: If you have a dough hook for your mixer all of the mixing can be done with a mixer. If you do not have a dough hook mix by hand.

  • Step 2: Combine honey, orange zest and all spices in mixing bowl. Using dough hook, mix on low speed until all ingredients are combined.

  • Step 3: Add almonds, apricots and dates. Mix well.

  • Step 4: The dough is going to be VERY sticky. Pinch off bite sized pieces or use a small cookie scoop, roll into balls. Set aside on baking sheet.

  • Step 5: Roll balls in powdered sugar.

  • Step 6: Refrigerate in airtight container with waxed paper or parchment between layers. Let set overnight.

  • Step 7: Remove refrigerator about an hour before serving. The sugar plums will absorb the powdered sugar. You can resugar just before serving for a sweeter sugar plum.
