Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter (room temp)
  • 1 1/2 cups crisco (butter flavored crisco)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sugar to roll balls in-DO NOT INCLUDE IN BATTER

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a large bowl cream butter, sugars and crisco until light and fluffy.

  • Step 2: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

  • Step 3: Beat in vanilla.

  • Step 4: Sift flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt.

  • Step 5: Slowly add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing well.

  • Step 6: Fold in chocolate chips and form 1/4 cup balls of the cookie mixture.

  • Step 7: Place 1/2 cup of sugar in a bowl and roll cookies rolls in the sugar.

  • Step 8: Place on greased cookie sheets, and press ball into a 4 inch circle.

  • Step 9: Bake 12-14 minutes at 350 degrees.
