Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 3 tablespoons oil (olive oil)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 to 4 teaspoons dried basil leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 can (14.5 ounce) diced tomatoes, undrained (Italian style)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 to 4 teaspoons butter
  • Pepper

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a saucepan, saute onion and garlic in olive oil over medium heat. Make sure it doesn't burn. Add tomato paste, basil, sugar, oregano, tomato paste and salt. Bring to boil. Simmer for 20-25 minutes or until most of the liquid evaporates.

  • Step 2: Remove from heat; stir in whipping cream and butter and pepper. Reduce heat and simmer 5-10 more minutes. Serve with cooked pasta.
