Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 2 cups dry macaroni pasta
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup Swiss cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon Tabasco (hot sauce)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs (fine)

How to Make

  • Step 1: Boil salted water. When boiling add in the chicken broth cube and let it dissolve. Then add in macaroni and cook till al dente. Drain and put into a greased casserole dish

  • Step 2: Mix the cheeses into a medium bowl

  • Step 3: Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat then slowly add in the flour to form a paste.

  • Step 4: Slowly add in the milk whisking to blend it in. Then stir constantly and add in the mixed cheeses stirring gently. Add in the salt, paprika, hot sauce and onion. Blend well and pour sauce over the macaroni evenly

  • Step 5: Mix the parsley and bread crumbs together and sprinkle on top of casserole

  • Step 6: Bake in preheated 350 oven for 25-30 minutes until top is browned

  • Step 7: If you wish to have a softer onion you can add it to the macaroni as it is cooking but don't lose any in your strainer
