Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 4 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2/3 cup beef broth
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 teaspoons cider vinegar
  • 2 cups fresh green beans
  • Sliced mushrooms (2 small cans or fresh, sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh grated gingerroot
  • 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • Cooked rice or ramen noodles

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine all sauce ingredients. Set aside.

  • Step 2: Blanch the green beans in boiling water for several minutes-the beans should be tender-crisp. Drain and “shock” with cold water.

  • Step 3: Saute the beef, ginger, garlic and red pepper flakes. Drain. Add the sauce and the mushrooms (if using canned) to the meat. If you are using fresh, you may wish to saute them briefly either separately or with the meat.

  • Step 4: Simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to blend, mis in the green beans, heat through and serve over rice or ramen noodles* *prepare ramen noodles according to package directions WITHOUT using the seasoning packet.
